Fines for the french timber importers
The Brigade Against Deforestation (BAD), a group of environmental activists, has organised a first control mission in the Nantes harbour on the 13th of May. BAD found several batches of illegal timber from Cameroon and 'fined' the french timber importers. The goal of the mission is to denounce ongoing trade in illegal timber and call for European legislation that requires that all wood and wood products on the European market are legally logged.
